Founder We appreciate all that he did for this company may he rest in peace. -August 8th 1927 – May 3rd 2021

Karl Konieczny grew up on a small farm in Hadley and purchased his first Tractor Mounted Hydraulic Backhoe in the 1940’s. With this machine he brought sitework to his family farm business. In 1950 he bought a Sherman backhoe/Loader, and business started to take off. There was more and more contract work and less farming.

In the mid 50’s he worked on Route 91 and then moved from being an equipment operator to managing a growing Sitework business. Today Karl’s Excavating and SiteWork has more than 25 employees, 1 sand and gravel pit and over 35 backhoes, excavators, bulldozers and other equipment to get the job done right.

We appreciate all that he did for this company may he rest in peace.
